Sacramento Safari is a Thirty-Third District PTA program that aims to train members how to advocate for families and children, and educate members on the legislative process. This event is open to all Thirty-Third District PTA members and designed for PTA leaders and student members.

Program Includes:

Extraordinary speakers
-
Meetings with your legislators, when possible
-
Legislative committee meetings, when possible
-
General Sessions of the Senate or Assembly, when possible
-
Meetings with PTA advocates

Participation Requirements:​
-
Adult and student delegates must be members of units in good standing; i.e. membership dues and insurance paid.

Each high school may send one student per 500 enrolled students. Councils are responsible for determining a selection procedure.

All students must have an administrator sign for their participation.

Each unit or council sending a high school student must provide a chaperone.

If your school requires that a teacher chaperone the trip, the PTA unit is responsible for covering all costs for the teacher, including registration costs and substitute teacher fees if required.

Mandatory orientation/preparation meetings will be held via Zoom at 7 p.m. on February 11 and 13, 2025. All participants must attend BOTH meetings

$365 per person (includes air transportation, ground travel, and meals)

Submit applications through your PTA unit.

Councils: Payment and registration forms are due in the Thirty-Third District PTA office on or before 4 p.m. on December 2, 2024. ​​​
