6:30 – 8:00 PM
The Thirty-Third District PTA, Long Beach Council PTA and Long Beach Council Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee invite you to join us at this year’s virtual conference. We are thrilled to have Farzana Nayani (pronouns she/her/hers), a recognized Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion specialist, coach, and international keynote speaker.
Farzana’s recent book, Raising Multiracial Children provides caregivers the tools for exploring race with children, offering practical guidance on how to initiate conversations. In it, she also provides an overview of key issues and current topics relevant to raising multiracial children and offers strategies and developmentally appropriate milestones from infancy through adulthood. The book ends with resources and references for further learning and exploration.
After, we’ll breakout into smaller breakout groups and collaborate on discussion topics and brainstorm strategies to bring through the actions into our own PTA units and councils.
